Agiesta Family

The Agiesta family settled in Central Park in the early 1900's. They had 7 children, Louis, James, Dominick, Lucy, Connie, Mary and Teresa.
Louis worked for Nassau County Social Service under Petito and Nickerson. Louis and his wife, Vera, had a small grocery store which was converted to a small restaurant which served many Grummanites across from Plant # 1.
James played baseball for the Central Park Red Devils.
James managed the 1st Little League Baseball team sponsored by Grumman Aircraft in 1952 and named the teams after 4 aircrafts built by Grumman: Guardians, Albatross - a sea plane, Cougars and Panthers - fighter planes.
James joined Dad's Club in the mid 1950's. He held the position of president of the club and worked hard to raise money for scholarships. (submitted by Sophie Agiesta)
