Asher, Frances Morrow

Frances born, August 22, 1914, widow of Raymond Asher, founder of Bethpage Tool and Hardware in the early forties and also the founder of the first Police Boys Club around the same time. Francis loved Bethpage. Moved from Bethpage by 1954, as the family had grown too large for the house on Windhorst Avenue. Asher Family - Allen, Barbara, Rita, Linda and parents. New houses being built in Plainview with four bedrooms in 1955 and the Asher's relocated. Barbara Asher Kitay told of her recollections of Jerry Ahearn who as a teenager worked in the hardware store. Sad to hear of the passing of Kay Mazzie an old friend. Friends of the Kessler family, Sylvia, David, and Elaine, of the Kessler Glass Factory. Remembers friends Peggy Kaufman, Looney family, Rabis family, the Ahearns, Marin Family, Procida Family, sister, Harriet Schottland and brother-in-law Leo Schottland.
