Bethpage Central Park Kiwanis

The Bethpage-Central Park Kiwanis was charted on October 1, 2012, and they celebrated the occasion, Charter Night, on February 1, 2013. The officers of the newly formed organization are:

President - Joanne Foley
Vice President - Ellen Scimeca
Secretary - Patty Donohue-Brown
Treasurer - Maryola Dannebaum

Board Members - Dominick Agnese, Paula Carey, Marguarite Romano, Christine Auer, Alan Finchley, Donna Marie Caivano, Shane Kanover, Joseph Smallarz

The Bethpage-Central Park Kiwanis is a part of Kiwanis International and is dedicated to serving the children of the world. The need for this local organization was realized by Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Nassau County Legislator Rose Marie Walker. The organization has grown, to date 3/13, from the original 29 members to 65 members.

The organization has already participated in the following: hosting the annual Bethpage High School Halloween Party for the elementary school children; participated in the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade; helped Super Storm Sandy victims; donated money to the Kiwanis Pediatric Lyme Foundation; donated 29 Pediatric Lyme Association "Tick Kits" to Boy Scout Troop 604; participated in Bethpage Relay for Life event; hosting a Pancake Breakfast at the American Legion Hall on May 5, 2013, and that same day having their first-annual street fair; joining Wantagh and Uniondale clubs for a joint fund raiser; April, 2013 is Skip-A-Meal month with moneys going to Eliminate Project (This is an international project to eliminate Maternal and Neo-Natal Tetanus); they will be the home club of next year's Gov. of the LI South Central Kiwanis Division, Ms. Ann Torcivia.

Kiwanis of Bethpage Central Park presents "EVERYDAY HEROES" the 2017 Honorees are: James Benjamin, Frank Ceglio and the Bethpage Junior Fire Fighters, John Coumatos, George Hudak, Francis Meehan, Laura Smith.
