Broadway Homes

From Central Park Historical Society Encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search

In the 1940's the Gagliardo family lived on the east side of Broadway, south of Powell Avenue, and operated a sewing business in the rear. (See entry for the Gagliardo family). Before it was the Gagliardo residence the house was the home of the Mazzara family, and before them a Quaker family occupied this grand house. Next door was the Parisi home to the south. The corner house (Powell Avenue and Broadway) was the Jarvis home which was later occupied by Mr. Bob Glasser and he had the house moved to the corner of Barbara Street and Broadway.
