Chapal, Blanche Field

Mrs. Blanche Field Chapal, widow of the late Antonin Chapal of Central Park, died at the age of 64 after a long illness. Mrs. Chapal is survived by two children, Robert Irving Chapal and Mrs. Francois C. Naylor, both of Central Park. Mrs. Chapal was well known in the village for her philanthropic work and her willingness to assist those in distress. At Christmas time she distributed food, as well as, shoes, food and clothing throughout the year to those in need. She was also actively engaged in the American Red Cross, and was cited by the government after the World War I. In France the French government presented her with a medal for services rendered to the soldiers of that nation during the war.

Antonin Chapal, well known in New York, Paris and London through his extensive fur interests, and owner of Chapal Freres of Fifth Avenue, New York City.
