Grumman Plant #5, where the Apollo Lunar Module was built that took astronauts to the moon in the late 1960s thru the early 1970s, is now being used as a movie studio. In 2009 Angelina Jolie partly filmed "Salt" at this location, and in the fall of 2010 "The Avengers" starring Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle will be filmed here for release in 2012.

Parviz Farahzad, a East Setauket developer, is the owner of the new Grumman Studios. The 500,000 square foot facility with seven sound stages, 30 acres of outdoor space, and plenty of room for storage. This will make the Grumman Studios, in the Lunar Module Park, the largest production studio in New York. Nassau County Industrial Development Agency named this facility the "Industrial Develoment Agency of the year for 2010". Review the Grumman Studios on their web-site.

As stated by Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano in THE BETHPAGE TRIBUNE - March 15, 2013, that Nassau County is becoming the Hollywood East of the motion picture and television industry. As County Executive, Ed Mangano, has worked to establish two production studios - Grumman Studios and Gold Coast Studios - that encompass three buildings and nine sound stages.
