Hebert, Gregory Edward

Gregory child of George and Gertrude (Wall) Hebert born November 3, 1946. Greg and his sister, Georgia Ann, lived off 2nd Avenue and 39th Street, NYC. At the age of 6 the family moved to Jackson Heights, Queens for 2 1/2 years, then continued moving east to settle in their dream house, in Bethpage, on 27 Concord Avenue. The fall of 1955 Greg entered 4th grade at Powell Avenue School with Miss Quinn as his teacher. He completed his education at Powell Avenue, then on to Jr. High School. Completed his high school education at Bethpage High School where he excelled in sports - baseball, basketball, and football. In the fall of 1960 Greg was scouted by Arthur Bebe of the Houston Astros. Mr. Bebes kept in touch with Greg over the years. In the mid 1970's Greg started a roofing business called "Roofer RX". He continued to be sole proprietor of this successful enterprise until his death on December 8, 2011. His great sense of humor is missed.
