Kennedy, Thomas J

Thomas was born in Williston Park October 4, 1925. He graduated from Mineola High School and enlisted in the Navy in 1943. After boot camp, he was sent to Sonar School in Key West, Florida and was assigned to a "sub-chaser." He served in the South Pacific and the East Coast of the U.S. during the WWII, once chasing an enemy submarine out of New York Harbor.

After the war, Tom went to school at Hofstra and Champlain College. He found work at Sperry Gyroscope and Armabosch before landing a job at Grumman Aerospace where he worked for 27 years as an Engineering Planner. He started there on the LM Project. He was an advid golfer and played on the Grumman golf league.

He was married for 55 years to Loretta Juiano, who he met at the Mineola Skating Rink. They lived in Bethpage and raised four daughters, Christina, Kathleen, Laura, and Michele.
