Masjid Al-Baqi: Muslims on Long Island

Masjid Al-Baqi was established on Central Avenue, Bethpage, to serve the Muslim communities of Bethpage, Plainview, Hicksville, Farmingdale, Massapequa, Levittown, Huntington, Woodbury, Amityville and Plainedge. Alhamdulillah Masjid Al-Baqi was ready to function on the 1st day of Ramadan in the year 1999.

This land was once the property of the famed Beau Sejour Restaurant. At the time it was purchased it was an Italian restaurant and later they purchased the adjourning corner property formerly an Oriental restaurant which is now being used primarily for parking.
