Relay For Life

The Bethpage Community unite in the fight against cancer as they volunteer for the cancer fundraising event of the American Cancer Society. They raise money for cancer research, cancer patients, spread cancer awareness as they celebrate the lives of cancer survivors.


On May 31, 2008 - June 1st, over 1300 Bethpage residents took part in an over night Relay for Life 2008, and raised $145,000 for cancer research and honored cancer survivors and caretakers. This is their second year participating in this event. Survivors took the the very first lap and were then followed by all others who "relayed" around the Bethpage High School track to raise money and awareness.

On May 16, 2009 45 teams walked the track at Bethpage High School through the night and raised $77,000 + for the American Cancer Society. Information from the Bethpage Tribune - May 22 - 28, 2009

The 2010 Relay For Life event took place on June 5 - 6, 2010 at the Bethpage High School. Fifty teams walked the beutiful track at the high school through the night.

Bethpage community and members from other local communities came out in full force to support The American Cancer Society for the 2011 Relay for life in Bethpage. Together they raised over $106,000 this year and still counting.
