Rockhill, Dr Anna

Dr. Anna Rockhill, a long time resident of Bethpage passed away June 4th, 2008, in Florida in her 94th year. She was the daughter of Irma and Albert Bellini.

Dr. Rockhill's career spanned 35 years working as a classroom teacher for 11 years and an elementary school principal for 24 years. She taught at Powell Avenue School and was principal there before becoming principal of the Pine Avenue School.

During this time she served as President of the Nassau County and National Elementary School Principal's Association. She was also President for New York State Council for Administrative Leadership. Following her retirement, she served as President of The American Association of University Women.

After retiring, Dr. Rockhill and her husband, Henry Rockhill, moved to Hendersonville, N. C., where they lived until Henry passed away in 1993 after 57 years of marriage. She spent her remaining years in Florida.

Dr. Rockhill is survived by two sons, Henry J. Rockhill and wife Barbara of Indialantic, Florida and Daniel Rockhill and his wife Kathy of Lecompton, Kansas, and her daughter, Kathleen Rockhill of Toronto, Canada. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
