Dominick a lifelong resident of Bethpage. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific. Upon returning home from the war, he worked as a security guard at Grumman Aerospace Corporation. In 1948 he joined the State Parkway Police, from which he retired as sergeant in 1976,
Dominick was a former president of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association on the Long Island State Parkway Police. He also held membership in the Sergeants Association and the International Police Association.
Dominick married to Florence, father of Carol, Charlotte, and Jay.
