He began his career as a social studies teacher, and he became an active advocate in school-community relations (realizing the first Senior Citizens' Prom in Nassau County). He was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Technology.

He began the 21st Century Scholars' Program at the high school which is aimed at developing well-rounded students. The program was successful so it was expanded to include the elementary and middle school levels.

Mr. Clark took on the responsibility of Superintendent of Bethpage Schools in 2009. Under his leadership, the district made monumental achievements. He maintains an excellent rapport with students, teachers, administrators and staff

Mr. Clark will be among 13 honorees to receive the 2015 Nassau BOCES Education Partner Award. This award is bestowed annually on those individuals and organizations whose impact on public education in Nassau County can be measured in tangible ways.
