Albertson, Robert, Sr.

Robert Albertson Sr., son of Eugene and Ilma (Peggy), brother of Eugene Jr. Born March 3, 1936 the same year Bethpage was born. No longer Central Park.

Bob attended Powell Avenue School, St. Paul's Lutheran Church and in 1950 attended Farmingdale High School, as Powell Avenue school only provided for K - 8th grade.

At Farmingdale High School Bob met his future wife, Ann Donhauser. Married in 1956 and three sons added to the Albertson family - Robert, John, Kurt. Bob Sr. and Bob Jr. followed in the family tradition as Bethpage Fire Department volunteers, and all were employed by Grumman Corporation for a time. Bob Sr. retired from Grumman, Bob Jr. went on to work for Bethpage Federal Credit Union, John a NBC news photographer, Kurt retired from the NYPD.

Bob married Colleen Sullivan; John married Maraya Gallo and Jack, Colette, and Milena were added to the Albertson Family Tree; Kurt married his Bethpage High School sweetheart, Teresa Weber, and children Stephen and Meghan to follow.

Ann managed family and involved in church, St. Martin of Tours, school as one of the organizers of SEPTA, and enjoyed involvement in the Central Park Historical Society - as well as support from family, employed by Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Proud to accept honor as a Life Member in the PTA and awarded Town of Oyster Bay 2019 Women of distinction.
